In a thrilling Pan Continental Curling match in the women’s fifth round-robin session on Tuesday evening’ the United States secured a hard-fought victory’ edging past Canada with a final score of 7-5. This impressive win not only places the United States at the top of the leaderboard in Pan Continental Curling but also guarantees their spot in the play-offs of this year’s BKT Tires World Women’s Curling Championship. With an undefeated record of five wins’ they are clearly a force to be reckoned with.

Earlier on the same day’ in the fourth session’ the American team had a dominating performance against Mexico’ securing a resounding 10-2 win. The momentum from their earlier victory undoubtedly carried into the evening match against Canada.

American skip Tabitha Peterson’ beaming after her team’s double triumph’ stated’ “We’re qualified [for the play-offs and the worlds] now. That’s our number one goal’ so we’ll check that one off and let’s go for the next goal’ which is to win everything.”

In another exciting evening session’ Korea demonstrated their prowess by defeating Japan with a convincing score of 8-2. This win of Pan Continental Curling match not only secured their place in the play-offs but also means that both Korea and Japan will be representing their countries at the world championship next March.

Earlier in the day’ Japan had a convincing victory over Chinese Taipei’ winning by a commanding 10-1’ while Korea emerged as 9-2 victors against Australia.

At the other end of the table’ Chinese Taipei celebrated their first win’ a notable victory against Australia with a final score of 7-4. This result holds significance in determining which team will face relegation. Meanwhile’ New Zealand demonstrated their skills by beating Mexico with a substantial 12-4 win’ marking their second victory. This victory propelled them into the coveted fifth place on the table’ which is the final qualifying slot for the world championship.

In the Men’s A-Division’ Korea showcased their dominance with a hard-fought 6-4 win over Guyana during the fourth round-robin session. This victory propelled them to the top spot on the table with an unblemished record of four wins. The game came down to the wire’ with Korean skip Park Jongduk securing a single point with an open hit in the tenth end for the win.

Meanwhile’ Canada ended Japan’s unbeaten streak with a 6-3 win’ and the United States got off to a strong start against Australia’ clinching an 8-3 victory in eight ends. New Zealand had a blazing start’ scoring four points in the first end and stealing four more in the second against Chinese Taipei’ eventually sealing a 10-3 win in six ends.

In the current standings’ Canada’ Japan’ New Zealand’ and Australia are sharing the second place behind Korea’ all with three wins and one loss. On the other hand’ Australia’ Guyana’ and Chinese Taipei are still in search of their first win out of four games.

In the B-Division’ China maintained their dominance with a 9-4 win over the Philippines in the men’s Pan Continental Curling category. In the women’s B-Division’ China and Jamaica upheld their unbeaten records with respective wins of 13-0 against Kenya and 10-5 against Brazil. These results have cemented their positions at the top of their divisions. In the men’s B-Division’ India secured an 11-3 victory over Saudi Arabia’ moving into joint second place alongside the Philippines’ while Brazil triumphed over Kenya with a commanding 16-2 win’ and Hong Kong prevailed over Mexico with a 6-3 score.

In summary’ the recent Pan Continental Curling matches have seen the United States and Korea excel in their respective divisions’ while China and Jamaica maintain their dominance in the B-Division. The competition remains fierce and captivating as teams vie for their place in the playoffs and world championships.
