Marvin Jones Jr. shared some personal news on Instagram this Tuesday. He expressed that he’s decided to take a step back from his role with the Detroit Lions to focus on matters within his family.

Following this announcement the Lions took a procedural step and officially released Jones. In the current NFL season he had made five catches accumulating 35 yards in six games.

Notably the 33-year-old didn’t accompany the team during their recent game against the Baltimore Ravens. This absence was unrelated to injuries; instead it was due to personal matters that required his attention.
